Doctors shortage - Impossible to verify degree as a doctor

It is near impossible to get permission to work here as a doctor, even if you have 10+ years of experience in your country!

With the current shortage of doctors, exams must be in several languages, not in Portuguese only (as in many countries!), and also system must be at lest reverted back to the rules 4 years ago when it was partially possible to verify diploma.

It doesn’t make sense to have strict rules if there is shortage!

There's no shortage; it's very bad management. But, anyway, ofc doctors in Portugal must speak Portuguese lol

    Where are you even from?

No Shortage. It is just normal that you should speak Portuguese if you want to be a doctor in Portugal( people speak Portuguese…)

There is no shortage, though. My wife went through the exams and have been unable to get employed. They need more doctors, but they don't employ enough.

Part of this is because they are xenophobic to the extreme, so when she got a position, they fired her as soon as some old Portuguese guy wanted to work there.
