Expats everywhere complaining
Expats (cause they don't like to be called immigrants as they’re white) destroyed the real estate market, infest all the shoreside places like they're on vacation all the time, then complain no one works.
They feel entitled to special things just because they are not native, and think they can avoid regulations that everyone must follow, like in every other place inside the European Union.

You say rich expats destroyed the real estate market but the reality is for every house they buy legitimately the government pockets over 30.000 in euros. I refer to the ones that pay all their taxes here without avoidance and contribute 100ks (normal taxes not bribes or contributions with kickbacks). So tax paid (not wealth) IS important.
I agree that every vote is equal but rational voters should worry about losing people who contribute a lot of money to the country and cost little. Unlike tourists who pay no income tax or property tax or even IVA in some cases.
With all the money paid in by immigration we can subsidse rents for the poorest in our society. In the real estate case it's simple math that a single house purchase has little effect on house prices but that tax paid could subsides a lot of citizens to buy or build. Same for income IRS jovem and other programs can be funded by these inflows and bring back young Portuguese. They don't take local jobs either often working on a laptop for a job that is outside portugal. So we should listen to the well meaning complaints.
We should listen to all feedback and think rationally not so much emotionally if it can help everyone.

Might as well burn the money, or throw it down the toilet.
More useful than giving it to the portuguese government.

The real estate market sucks because Portugal builds fewer homes than any OECD country.
Portugal has the highest antidepressant usage in Europe.
30-40% of Portuguese graduates leave Portugal.
Portugal clearly has major economic problems that hurt the Portuguese more than anyone.
Expats just point these problems out.

At the same time, bangladeshian who lives 10 persons per room and can’t even write the word “biometric“ whithout mistakes are already with cards. Personally I just want a justice, I was ready to wait for year and more, I understand your issues perfect, but sorry, I’ll not tolerate things like that. I’m a person and desrve for some respect.

You are not an expat, you are an immigrant
